Khi bạn biết dùng chữ (Việt hay Anh hay bất cứ ngôn ngữ nào) một cách tinh thông và bạn càng tự tin khi phát biểu ý kiến, tài hùng biện của bạn được gia tăng, con người bạn cũng được nhiều ng ười khác mến phục hơn.   63. LEARN ENGLISH VOCABULARY IN A NATURAL WAY! Having a great amount of vocabulary means you can easily express your ideas in English. Hence, you may apply many ways to learn English vocabulary such as writing new words for many times or making sentences concluding new words. All those ways are good but I am introducing a new way of learning , wh ich is very easy and natural. The first thing I am telling you is about the preparation . You should choose English books, newspapers or magazines which you like most . This will help yo u feel fascinated and less boring when reading. In addition, do not forget to put a good dictionary such as Oxford Dictio nary besides you. It will be better for you to prepare a modern cell phone or laptop having translation software . Besides, it is very important for you to keep a comfortable status . Remember that you are enjoying a book or newspapers, not learning anythin g. It is time for you to read your favorite books. During your reading process, if you meet any new word, stop to look up it in the dictionaries as fast as possible . T hen, continue your reading . In the situation you meet the word you have looked up befor e but you forget its meaning, look it up again . As you know, carrying out an action for many times will create a habit; similarly, looking up a new word in dictionary for many times will help keep that word in your memory longer because it has been alw ays in your brain . When applying this natural way, you had better obe y a rule that you needn’t write an ything . I am sure that there are at least ten new words in 65
  64. the story. If you write all the new words in your notebook, are you sure you will read them agai n someday? The answer may be “No” or “Never”. Because when you see that there are too many new words, you will shout: “Oh my god”. And you may soon give up all your efforts. Thus, writing new words is not necessary . You should only read and look up new wor ds. The more times you interact with the words, the more familiar you feel . Another interesting thing I must not forget to tell you is that you will recognize a principle after a long time applying this natural way. This principle means you can only remember the short or not too long words. And they are most common words which you can remember longer . Recently, many language experts has listed 3000 most popular English words and they told that we need only learn 3000 most popular words to be a ble to read all English newspapers or books . Hence, learning by this will help you recognize and remember many popular w ords. Finally, I hope you will spend at least 45 minutes on reading English book or magazines every day . Remember to apply all techniq ues I have shared with you and I believe you will be successful . A new week has just begun and you had better build your schedule. Remember to put the duty of reading English books in your daily routine. Though you may be very busy with a lot of work, do not be lazy if you want to save your poor English . 66
